WHAT IS THE REAL TRUTH MINISTRIES:The Real Truth Ministries is a faith-based, 501 (3)(C) non-profit organization that provides trainings and resources to proactively fight against sexual abuse while properly caring for survivors. We also provide completely secular versions of our trainings with the same facts, education, and passion for fighting against sexual abuse. The Real Truth Ministries was founded by survivor and sexual assault counselor, Carlie Cleveland, and our trainings are led by certified sexual assault counselors.
|
MISSION:Provide Biblical training for the Church, pastors, parents, ministry organizations, and community to empower survivors, fight against abuse at the root, and properly care for all victims of sexual abuse with the loving arms of Jesus. We have a deep passion for a robust theological approach to what the Bible tells us about abuse, caring for the vulnerable, sexual ethics, and operating as the Body of Christ.
|
TRAINING CONTENT:Our sexual assault care trainings are led by a certified sexual assault counselor and use the Real Truth Ministries' sexual assault care training curriculum that focuses on nine different topics: an introduction to sexual assault, the Church's involvement, victims, perpetrators, sexual assault myths, rape in our culture, adolescent victims, purity culture, and how the Church can help. The Real Truth Ministries also provides bystander intervention trainings, family safety trainings, healthy dating, and more to help educate our local bodies of believers, leaders, and communities.

WHY DO WHAT WE DO:Every 68 seconds, someone is sexually assaulted in America.* In the U.S. alone, on in three women and one in four men have or will have experienced sexual violence in their lifetimes.+ These statistics are unacceptable. We are taking action to provide trainings and education to care for survivors while also teaching proactive ways to fight sexual abuse.
As followers of Jesus, we have a responsibility to defend victims and and those who experience injustice. It is our duty as believers to care for victims with the loving arms of Jesus. It is our responsibility as Christ-followers to educate ourselves, our congregations, our pastors, our ministry organizations, and our church staff members, etc. so we can be the voice for the voiceless. * Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Statistics, National Crime Victimization Survey, 2019 (2020).
